Leave at 10:15 to enjoy a catamaran boat tour with kayaks in the gentle waters, grottos, into the caves of Ponta da Piedade , and the incredible scenic coastline. We can swim and snorkel too ! Enjoy some spa time on the beach after then go back to estate to chill or nap.

At about 2:00- 5pm visit the National Palace and Gardens of Queluz – they have a café here for a light lunch if you want. The National Palace of Queluz enchants with its grandeur and the exuberance of its architectural details. Closely linked to the experiences of three generations of the Portuguese Royal Family, and the scene of intense emotions, the palace reflects the evolution of tastes and styles of the time, including Baroque, Rococo and Neoclassicism. Around it, scenographic gardens invite you to "stroll" through the time when the court organized sumptuous parties there and keep the memories of gondola rides on the canal, the theater, hunts, musical and literary evenings, masked balls, games and open-air performances. We will visit the opulent gardens as well ! Here’s a curiosity for you: the diversity of ‘Quinta da Regaleira’ is enriched with esoteric themes symbolisms. Feel the mysteries and the suspense around you. Strolling through the paths traced through the vegetation and huge trees, we realize that on the lower part of the ‘Quinta da Regaleira’, the garden is organized and care,but going up it seems wilder, reflecting an ideal primitivism. Going in the direction of Regaleira’s Palace we walk through what looks like a king and queen’s path. Here you almost feel that you are being blessed and protected by the Greco-Roman Gods, so perfectly aligned statues like: Venus, Orpheus, Dionysius, Fortune, Hermes, Pã, Flora, Ceres and Vulcano.
After we will drive to the ocean to Cascais town ( 20 minutes from Sintra ) with a stop for pictures at the scenic point of Boca Do Inferno. With perhaps time to walk around the Quay Cascais before ( or after dinner in the town ) enjoy dinner in this town by the sea at O Faroleiro at 6pm.
June 11th Wendesday The Intention of the day is: I Listen IN to my Wisdom Self and Observe The Mystery Unfolding AJNA Chakra Yoga at 8:30 Breakfast at 9:30
Leave by 11:15 or so to arrive by 12 for entry at 12:30 when we will tour the simply astounding National Palace of Sintra Park and National Palace of Pena . There is a 30 minute walk with stairs from one complex to the other and we will have lunch in the palace to relax and renew.

Built by the Moors in the Middle Ages, the National Palace of Sintra was expanded by several kings over the centuries, resulting in a mix of influences from Mudéjar (an Islamic style) to Manueline (a highly ornate Portuguese style). But you don’t need to be an architecture buff to be impressed by the Coat of Arms room painted with 72 noble families’ emblems, or the restored 15th-century kitchens where regal banquets were once prepared.
At 2:45 ( 3:30 check in ) we will head to the village symbol, Pena Park, where the iconic Pena Castle is located. Built on a highly point of the village, it is distinguished by its wonderful architecture with Arab and Moorish features, surrounded by an immense vegetation and sets of various tree species.In these Park with 200 acres everything is fantastic, from the various paths to walk, bridges, caves, park benches, pergolas to the simple fountains taken from divine scenarios. Walking through this passionate path you can see small houses. Years ago, these were the houses of king’s guards and servants. You will also see greenhouses and nurseries with camellias - the ex-líbris flower of Sintra -, ‘rosas de cepas’ (a specific kind of rare roses) and master pieces.
Located on the top of a hill is another former royal residence, the Pena Palace. Inspired by German Romantic architecture, it looks like a Disney castle with its pink and yellow towers, ornamental buttresses, and cartoonish gargoyles. The interiors are equally dramatic. Don’t miss the intricately carved ceilings and walls of Queen Amelia’s apartments and the striking all-white reception room.

Then we will put our bags in a room then leave 11 to go enjoy the Monserrate Palace and Park (In Portuguese: Palácio de Monserrate) -a palatial villa located near Sintra, the traditional summer resort of the Portuguese court in the foothills overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. From 1789 onwards, the Palace of Monserrate housed one wealthy Englishman after another, even earning a mention in a few of Byron’s poems. The eclectic building combines Gothic arches, Indian alabaster panels, Moorish stucco work, and East Asian porcelain. The palace’s botanical gardens are equally diverse, with flora from far-flung destinations like Mexico and New Zealand. Monserrate Park has gardens that seem to be taken from a fairy tale. Designed by the romantic mind of Francis Cook, an English millionaire, the gardens have species from all over the world and they are organized by geographic areas according to their origins. Throughout exotic trees, waterfalls and lakes, there’s no better place to be. Admiring even the tiniest detail like a bee landing on a flower to collect pollen, a flower blossoming, the sun between the trees, the soil’s and wood odor will fill you with wonder. Due to this unique beauty, it won the European Garden Award as ‘The Best Development of an Historical Park or Garden’ by the European Garden Heritage Network (EGHN) and the Schloss Dyck Foundation.

June 13th Friday Intention of the day is: I Recognize and remember my highest purpose

Meet at Ambers house for Yoga at 8:30 then we all will walk or drive ( TBD ) to the main restaurant for breakfast at 9:30 – then enjoy resorts beach, big pool etc. Please plan to have one partner with you if you are going in nature and bring your phone of course !
The hotel has non electric bikes for 8 euro an hour and electric bikes for 12 euro an hour ( this is not part of our package ) but some of us may want to explore on bike. There are free trails also ! Eddie and I may want to bike !
Depart at 1 pm to visit Óbidos town very close to our estates. A street not to be missed: Rua Direita. We will all 1st get a included taste of the towns famous ‘ginjinha’, a typical cherry liqueur served in small edible chocolate cups, a local delicacy that you can enjoy while exploring the town. Then we can stay together or explore the charming medieval village on our own, famous for its well-preserved walls and picturesque cobbled streets. On our visit, you will walk through its narrow passages, surrounded by white houses with windows adorned with colourful flowers. The history of Óbidos permeates every corner, with its imposing castle dominating the landscape. Besides the wall, the magnificent medieval castle and the historic center of Obidos are the main attractions of the city and can be easily visited on foot. The maze of narrow cobbled streets will lead you to bustling squares, cozy cafes, quaint shops, local craft markets, and everywhere you will see the whitewashed houses decorated with beautiful colorful paintings.
At 3pm we will meet at 41 Restaurant at
Rua Direita n 41 in the center of the town for a late lunch (hopefully Bonnie and Thomas will come and meet us ?). We can choose to walk around a bit more if we agree or go back to the resort after lunch.

Peniche: Berlengas Island Trip, Hiking and Cave Tour

Important information Know before you go
The catamaran typically takes 30 minutes to reach the island, and the semi-rigid or sports yacht takes 25 minutes, depending on sea conditions
Venture off the coast of Portugal and discover the beautiful Berlenga Island on a HALF-DAY catamaran tour from Peniche + free snorkeling equipment. Very often dolphins come to pay a visit and swim by boat as we arrive and leave ! The Berlengas archipelago is a group of small islands located just 5.7 miles off the coast of Peniche and comprises Berlenga, Estelas, and Farilhões islands. Berlenga is the only inhabited island. In 2011 UNESCO classified the Berlengas as a “World Biosphere Reserve”, which is indicative of the rich fauna and flora that can be found on the islands. Head to the protected archipelago for boating, relaxing on the beach, choose to hike on the rugged trails and take in the stunning scenery and lots of bird life. This is a 4-hour mini cruise where you will take you to see the profound beauty of places along the coast of Peniche and Berlengas island.
Upon arriving at the island you can walk the trails; take a visit of St. John the Baptist, the famous Fortress. You will be free to explore the island, sunbathe and people watch on the beach and snorkel in the clear cool water with lots of fish ~
We will enjoy dinner at The Mar e Sol restaurant (belonging to Pensão Pavilhão Mar e Sol) is the main restaurant in Berlengas. It has a lovely terrace, with a beautiful view of the beach and the sea. Meals average just 15 euro ! No reservations for this one .
June 15th Sunday

9:30 breakfast then depart by 11 and on the drive back to Lisbon we will stop to explore and have a snack and scenic walk at the renowned Bacalhoa Buddha Eden Garden with a lake , Buddhas, a giant Qwan Yin ( Goddess of Compassion ) in Quinta dos Loridos from 12:00 – 2:30.
Arrive to our Lisbon stylish French style hotel Palacio das Especiarias at around 3, check in and relax or explore the town ( in pairs please ).

Built by the Moors in the Middle Ages, the National Palace of Sintra was expanded by several kings over the centuries, resulting in a mix of influences from Mudéjar (an Islamic style) to Manueline (a highly ornate Portuguese style). We head to the village symbol, Pena Park, where the iconic Pena Castle is located. June 12th Check out day. After yoga and breakfast we will put our bags in a room then leave to go enjoy the Monserrate Palace and Park (In Portuguese: Palácio de Monserrate) -a palatial villa located near Sintra, the traditional summer resort of the Portuguese court in the foothills overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. From 1789 onwards, the Palace of Monserrate housed one wealthy Englishman after another, even earning a mention in a few of Byron’s poems. The eclectic building combines Gothic arches, Indian alabaster panels, Moorish stucco work, and East Asian porcelain. The palace’s botanical gardens are equally diverse, with flora from far-flung destinations like Mexico and New Zealand. Monserrate Park has gardens that seem to be taken from a fairy tale. Designed by the romantic mind of Francis Cook, an English millionaire, the gardens have species from all over the world and they are organized by geographic areas according to their origins. Throughout exotic trees, waterfalls and lakes, there’s no better place to be. Admiring even the tiniest detail like a bee landing on a flower to collect pollen, a flower blossoming, the sun between the trees, the soil’s and wood odor will fill you with wonder. June 13th , we will visit Óbidos town very close to our estates. Experience a charming medieval village, famous for its well-preserved walls and picturesque cobbled streets. On our visit, you will walk through its narrow passages, surrounded by white houses with windows adorned with colourful flowers. The history of Óbidos permeates every corner, with its imposing castle dominating the landscape. Besides the wall, the magnificent medieval castle and the historic center of Obidos are the main attractions of the city and can be easily visited on foot. The maze of narrow cobbled streets will lead you to bustling squares, cozy cafes, quaint shops, local craft markets, and everywhere you will see the whitewashed houses decorated with beautiful colorful paintings. A street not to be missed: Rua Direita. We will all get a included taste of the towns famous ‘ginjinha’, a typical cherry liqueur served in small edible chocolate cups, a local delicacy that you can enjoy while exploring the town.
June 14th Venture off the coast of Portugal and discover the beautiful Berlenga Island on a HALF-DAY catamaran tour from Peniche + free snorkeling equipment. Very often dolphins come to pay a visit and swim by boat as we arrive and leave ! The Berlengas archipelago is a group of small islands located just 5.7 miles off the coast of Peniche and comprises Berlenga, Estelas, and Farilhões islands. Berlenga is the only inhabited island. In 2011 UNESCO classified the Berlengas as a “World Biosphere Reserve”, which is indicative of the rich fauna and flora that can be found on the islands. Head to the protected archipelago for boating, relaxing on the beach, choose to hike on the rugged trails and take in the stunning scenery and lots of bird life. This is a 4-hour mini cruise where you will take you to see extreme beauty places along the coast of Peniche and Berlengas island and to look for the Elephant Rock ! If your worried about sea sickness – don’t as this is a fast moving boat going straight to the island and only takes 20 minutes each way ! Upon arriving at the island you can walk the trails; take a visit of St. John the Baptist, the the famous Fortress. You will be free to explore the island, sunbathe and people watch on the beach and snorkel in the clear cool water with lots of fish ~

Cancellation policy:
If you wish to cancel your retreat you must notify Inner Fire in writing. Once we’ve received your notice, cancellation will take effect subject to the following: If cancellation takes place more than 90 days prior to your departure date any payments made will be refunded minus your deposit. If cancellation takes place less than 90 days prior to your departure date, 100% of the trip price will be forfeited. Any amount left due will be still need to be paid as a debt due and payable. You can get “ Cancel For Any Reason ” Insurance which will cover any payments due if you cannot join us but you must buy this right away when you paid any monies towards your retreat if you choose ( recommended ).

Portugal Itinerary
June 5th 1st Day - check in and relax at Casa Ferrel- we will provide dinner tonight at the estate so we can relax and enjoy the two pools !
June 6th After gentle yoga and a yummy breakfast enjoy a catamaran boat tour with kayaks in the gentle waters, grottos, into the caves of Ponta da Piedade , and the incredible scenic coastline. We can swim and snorkel too ! Dinner at a local restaurant with views of the sea.
June 7th Electric biking excursion for 3.3 miles at the Praia da Marinha to Praia do Carvalho at Seven Hangings Valley Trail stopping and swimming at up to 3 beaches. They have a little café at the end and we will get snacks and drinks.
Tonight have a walk around the picturesque town then enjoy dinner and some dancing perhaps at a happening club ( we have 2 vans so if some want to go back to the estate they can )

June 8th Drive 45 minutes into the mountains for a visit to a famous hot spring town Caldas de Monchique is a spa town in the Monchique mountains of the Algarve region of Portugal. It's known for its thermal baths, which are fed by mineral-rich springs that have been valued for their healing properties since Roman times. We have time at a local spa with the natural hot water for healing and with a included massage for all. June 9th – After yoga and a nice breakfast we will check out of our estate and will drive to Sintra to check into our 16th Century estate Quinta de São Thiago and enjoy a relaxed dinner in this magical town or maybe at the estate.
June 10th In the afternoon we will visit the stunning Quinta da Regaleira. Completed in 1910, Quinta da Regaleira was the private residence of a coffee tycoon who commissioned the flamboyant estate from an Italian architect and opera-set designer. Though the neo-Manueline house and chapel are outstanding, the real highlights are found in the whimsical gardens, which feature hidden tunnels, grottoes, and strange mystical symbolism. An enigmatic architecture in a picturesque setting, this estate is romantic to say the least. A network of lanes and tracks, hidden walkways and winding paths take you from one fantastical sight to the other, so grabbing a map at the entrance to this extensive layout is an absolute must. An opulent palace hidden in a forest is bound to create a mystery – as do the various sites it houses such as the Initiation Well, Promenade of the Gods, and the Chapel. We will visit the opulent gardens as well give it 3 hours with a little coffee break in the middle. Here’s a curiosity for you: the diversity of ‘Quinta da Regaleira’ is enriched with esoteric themes symbolisms. Feel the mysteries and the suspense around you. Strolling through the paths traced through the vegetation and huge trees, we realize that on the lower part of the ‘Quinta da Regaleira’, the garden is organized and care,but going up it seems wilder, reflecting an ideal primitivism. Going in the direction of Regaleira’s Palace we walk through what looks like a king and queen’s path. Here you almost feel that you are being blessed and protected by the Greco-Roman Gods, so perfectly aligned statues like: Venus, Orpheus, Dionysius, Fortune, Hermes, Pã, Flora, Ceres and Vulcano.

June 11th Starting at 10 am we will tour the simply astounding National Palace of Sintra, The Moorish Castle, Park and National Palace of Pena and awe inspiring Vila Sassetti. There is a 40 minute walk with stairs from one complex to the other and we will have lunch in the palace to relax and renew.

Built by the Moors in the Middle Ages, the National Palace of Sintra was expanded by several kings over the centuries, resulting in a mix of influences from Mudéjar (an Islamic style) to Manueline (a highly ornate Portuguese style). But you don’t need to be an architecture buff to be impressed by the Coat of Arms room painted with 72 noble families’ emblems, or the restored 15th-century kitchens where regal banquets were once prepared.
We head to the village symbol, Pena Park, where the iconic Pena Castle is located. Built on a highly point of the village, it is distinguished by its wonderful architecture with Arab and Moorish features, surrounded by an immense vegetation and sets of various tree species.In these Park with 200 acres everything is fantastic, from the various paths to walk, bridges, caves, park benches, pergolas to the simple fountains taken from divine scenarios. Walking through this passionate path you can see small houses. Years ago, these were the houses of king’s guards and servants. You will also see greenhouses and nurseries with camellias - the ex-líbris flower of Sintra ‘rosas de cepas’ (a specific kind of rare roses) and master pieces.
Located on the top of a hill is another former royal residence, the Pena Palace. Inspired by German Romantic architecture, it looks like a Disney castle with its pink and yellow towers, ornamental buttresses, and cartoonish gargoyles. The interiors are equally dramatic. Don’t miss the intricately carved ceilings and walls of Queen Amelia’s apartments and the striking all-white reception room.

June 12th Check out day. After yoga and breakfast we will put our bags in a room then leave to go enjoy the Monserrate Palace and Park (In Portuguese: Palácio de Monserrate) -a palatial villa located near Sintra, the traditional summer resort of the Portuguese court in the foothills overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. From 1789 onwards, the Palace of Monserrate housed one wealthy Englishman after another, even earning a mention in a few of Byron’s poems. The eclectic building combines Gothic arches, Indian alabaster panels, Moorish stucco work, and East Asian porcelain. The palace’s botanical gardens are equally diverse, with flora from far-flung destinations like Mexico and New Zealand. Monserrate Park has gardens that seem to be taken from a fairy tale. Designed by the romantic mind of Francis Cook, an English millionaire, the gardens have species from all over the world and they are organized by geographic areas according to their origins. Throughout exotic trees, waterfalls and lakes, there’s no better place to be. Admiring even the tiniest detail like a bee landing on a flower to collect pollen, a flower blossoming, the sun between the trees, the soil’s and wood odor will fill you with wonder. Due to this unique beauty, it won the European Garden Award as ‘The Best Development of an Historical Park or Garden’ by the European Garden Heritage Network (EGHN) and the Schloss Dyck Foundation.
Walk around for around an 1 hour and 30 minutes. Have a snack or light lunch in their café then depart to drive just one hour to West Cliffs in Obidos. Relax today at the huge oceanside resort and enjoy a dinner on property at the CLUBHOUSE where we will have a large table with views for our group.
June 13th , we will visit Óbidos town very close to our estates. Experience a charming medieval village, famous for its well-preserved walls and picturesque cobbled streets. On our visit, you will walk through its narrow passages, surrounded by white houses with windows adorned with colourful flowers. The history of Óbidos permeates every corner, with its imposing castle dominating the landscape. Besides the wall, the magnificent medieval castle and the historic center of Obidos are the main attractions of the city and can be easily visited on foot. The maze of narrow cobbled streets will lead you to bustling squares, cozy cafes, quaint shops, local craft markets, and everywhere you will see the whitewashed houses decorated with beautiful colorful paintings. A street not to be missed: Rua Direita. We will all get a included taste of the towns famous ‘ginjinha’, a typical cherry liqueur served in small edible chocolate cups, a local delicacy that you can enjoy while exploring the town.
June 14th Venture off the coast of Portugal and discover the beautiful Berlenga Island on a HALF-DAY catamaran tour from Peniche + free snorkeling equipment. Very often dolphins come to pay a visit and swim by boat as we arrive and leave ! The Berlengas archipelago is a group of small islands located just 5.7 miles off the coast of Peniche and comprises Berlenga, Estelas, and Farilhões islands. Berlenga is the only inhabited island. In 2011 UNESCO classified the Berlengas as a “World Biosphere Reserve”, which is indicative of the rich fauna and flora that can be found on the islands. Head to the protected archipelago for boating, relaxing on the beach, choose to hike on the rugged trails and take in the stunning scenery and lots of bird life. This is a 4-hour mini cruise where you will take you to see extreme beauty places along the coast of Peniche and Berlengas island and to look for the Elephant Rock ! If your worried about sea sickness – don’t as this is a fast moving boat going straight to the island and only takes 20 minutes each way ! Upon arriving at the island you can walk the trails; take a visit of St. John the Baptist, the the famous Fortress. You will be free to explore the island, sunbathe and people watch on the beach and snorkel in the clear cool water with lots of fish ~
We will enjoy dinner at The Mar e Sol restaurant (belonging to Pensão Pavilhão Mar e Sol) is the main restaurant in Berlengas. It has a lovely terrace, with a beautiful view of the beach and the sea. Meals average just 15 euro !
June 15th pack up and on the drive back to Lisbon we will stop to explore and have a snack and scenic walk at the renowned Bacalhoa Buddha Eden Garden with a lake , Buddhas, a giant Qwan Yin ( Goddess of Compassion ) in Quinta dos Loridos from 12:00 – 2:30.
